Thomas Charles Higginson [1821-1898]

Thomas Charles Higginson, retired Lieutenant-Colonel Royal Artillery was married to Frances Daniell in Dublin in 1870. His father was William Higginson.
In 1859 he was a witness at the marriage of Charlotte Wilhelmina Kennedy to William Walker in St. Peter's Church, Dublin. William Walker was a Captain in the Queen's Body Guard. Charlotte Kennedy was the daughter of John Campbell Kennedy and Margaret Higginson. How was Thomas related to Margaret Higginson? Were they siblings, or cousins?

  1. Hi there, i am also looking at the Kennedy's from Ballyrainey and Ballymaglaff as i think they are doubly related to our Sloan family from Ballyrush and earlier maybe Ballystockart or Ballybeen. We certainly have some of the same names as second names. I found this at the Isle of Wight Church site. Two later records of girls who died young are in the form of stained glass windows, near to the south transept door. These both date from 1861. One shows a little girl tenderly guarded by an angel and bears the inscription, "To the memory of little Kate". The other, in a strongly similar style, shows Jairus' daughter being raised by our Lord. It is dedicated to Charlotte Wilhelmina Walker, who died on the 8th January 1861, aged 19. The watching figures lead us to remember the parents who chose the inscription, "She is not dead, but sleepeth" ... a more comforting sentiment with which to contemplate these sad memorials. id you could contact me on jsunbeam@xtra.co.nz we could compare notes. I see you are from New Zealand as well. Cheers Jo
